Matoja

Nice housepets we have. Any idea what these are? They appear from somewhere, crawl the walls to the ceiling, travel some (apparently towards heat and / or light) and they can descend from the ceiling using something similar that the spiders use. The stuff comes from their ass... And they prefer the kitchen. They are approximately 2cm long. We haven't seen them in other rooms (yet).

Lock one up and feed it. When you see it hatch, you may get a clearer picture.

Most probably from this family:

They eat your noodles, flour, nuts, muesli and everything else which contains starch.
Common pest here in Italy. You import them from the supermarket.

Check carefully your stock of food for the spiderwebs/magots, also the closed ones. Only food stored in the fridge or in very tight glass or metal containers might not be in danger.
Hard to get rid of them again without throwing away nearly everything. They sell yellow cards with pheromones on it to catch the moths. But this will not help 100% against them. It is more an indicator if they are still around.

The pictur of the moth is identical with the one of yours. Same problems as mentioned above.
